Snape casually snatches the sword back.

"Tomorrow night..." he said down to them "...you will join Professor Rubeus Hagrid for detention in the forbidden forest. That is all."

Snape then turned around to supposedly return the sword to it's original case. The students not knowing his true intentions to help the missing trio of Hogwarts.
